Duane brings a cinematographer’s sensibility to production; he creates soundtracks for the mind in the recording studio. Duane has shown a flair for delicate, atmospheric touches, both in producing material for artist such as Ben Sollee, Vandaveer, These United States, and as a recording artist and composer/remixer for TV/Film/Advertising. Stressing emotional vibrancy over the technical aspects of making albums.  Lundy works in typically organic, stripped-down styles (guitar-based pop/rock, roots rock, singer/songwriter records), Lundys unorthodox techniques — low-fidelity distortion, vintage compressors and effects pedals, mic filters made from everyday found objects, and so on – has given his work a distinctive, immediately identifiable sound.

MIKE BURRESS-ENGINEER

Musician/Audio Engineer/Mix Engineer- Mike got a former education at the Lexington School for Recording Arts. He has been a part of the Shangri-La team since December of 2008. Specialties include running live sound, recording artists live, in the studio and in his own home. This Engineer has a hunger for new and unique sounds and textures in the music he is recording. Mike has had the honor of engineering and assisting on local and national recording projects such as Killer Meteor, Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant, These United States, Mike Mangione, Johnny Bennett, Sunday Valley, Vandaveer, Vicious Guns, and Dear Companion featuring Jim James, Daniel Martin Moore, and Ben Sollee.
